Dirk Hanss is Head of Risk Measurement & Control at Assenagon. In this function he is responsible for the valuation and control of fund risks. Holding a degree in business mathematics, in 2003 he earned an additional qualification as Financial Risk Manager (FRM) from GARP. Until May 2008 he was responsible for risk management of the funds of Citigroup Investment Deutschland and before that at DWS in Frankfurt and Luxembourg. This covered all kinds of funds classes, in particular hedge funds, guaranteed funds and pension funds with their specific risk on the liability side. From 1988 to 1998 he had been portfolio manager for money market funds, tax optimised funds and principal guaranteed funds including structuring.
