Assenagon Appoints Head of Systematic Cross Asset Portfolio Management

Independent asset manager Assenagon is strengthening its portfolio management division: with effect from 1 November 2025, Cristian von Angerer has taken over as Head of the seven-member Systematic Cross Asset Portfolio Management team. After several years, von Angerer is returning to Assenagon, where he previously worked from 2013 to 2017 as a Portfolio Manager and Head of Portfolio Construction (Structured Investment Management). He studied Financial and Economic Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich and has more than twelve years of experience in the financial sector. Cristian von Angerer reports directly to Philip Seegerer, Member of the Executive Management Board.

The aim is to further develop this successful business area in a sustainable manner, says Philip Seegerer: “Cristian combines deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, many years of experience in asset management and an entrepreneurial mindset. Together, we intend to further expand our systematic mandates and ensure the long-term high quality of our investment solutions.”
