Portfolio Manager
The person responsible for the investment decisions of an investment portfolio in order to achieve the specific investment objective or purpose of the investment portfolio.
Price-earnings ratio (P/E ratio)
The price-earnings ratio (P/E ratio) is the ratio between a company's share price and the company's earnings per share. The ratio can be used to value companies to determine whether they are overvalued or undervalued.
Primary market
Primary markets are where initial issues (new issues) of securities (e.g. shares, bonds) are traded. Primary markets are supported by underwriters who set an initial price range for a particular security and execute its sale to investors.
Prospectus
The fund prospectus contains all essential information on the investment fund, such as the fund regulations, which have been approved by the Financial Market Authority (e.g. CSSF in Luxembourg), as well as the explanation of the risk profile. In the event of significant changes to an investment fund, its fund prospectus is also updated.
Put option (Option to sell)
A put option gives the holder (buyer) the right, but not the obligation, to sell a security or other financial asset at an agreed price (the strike price) during a specified period (until expiration date) or on a specified date (the exercise date).
