Passing the baton: Assenagon appoints new CFO

The independent asset manager Assenagon has appointed Fabienne Rittinghaus as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as of November 1, 2024. Rittinghaus has held various positions at Assenagon since 2018 and took over as Director of the Finance team in 2022. Previously, the business administration graduate was a Finance Consultant at Deloitte.

In her new role as CFO, she reports directly to Assenagon co-founder and member of the Board of Directors, Hans Günther Bonk. "Under Fabienne's responsibility, key projects for Assenagon, such as software-supported management reporting, have been implemented and realized very successfully," comments Hans Günther Bonk on the appointment. "We are convinced that Fabienne fulfills both the professional and personal requirements for the responsibility of Chief Financial Officer and wish her every success in her new role," adds Assenagon co-founder and member of the Board of Directors, Vassilios Pappas.

Rittinghaus takes over the position of CFO from Thomas Stampff, who has been responsible for this role on a disciplinary basis since 2011 and has led Assenagon's finance team. Stampff himself proposed the handover of the baton in order to be able to concentrate fully on his role as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in future. "We would like to thank Thomas for this initiative and for his excellent work in the CFO function over the past 13 years," said the two Assenagon founders, Bonk and Pappas.
